The City Council of Lexington will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024 during its regular meeting, held in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, concerning Ordinance 2024-04 which appropriates funds approved in the fiscal year 2025 budget. The ordinance includes rates, fees, and taxes to be established for the fiscal year. The proposed real estate tax rate for FY25 is $0.92 per $100; no changes for personal property tax rates are proposed. Water and sewer rates are proposed to increase by an average of 8.0%. Citizen comments are welcome at the meeting or you may submit public comments in writing to the following email address:
