THE OFFICE OF THE SHERIFF for Rockbridge County and Lexington City is seeking professional, motivated, and dedicated individuals interested in a career in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff. Minimum Qualifications:
*At least 18 years of age
*United States Citizen
*Valid driver’s license
*High school diploma or equivalent
*Ability to successfully complete a thorough background investigation
*Ability to successfully complete a physical examination
Preferred Qualifications: *College degree
*Prior law enforcement experience
*Military experience
Applicants who are not currently certified as a Virginia Law Enforcement Officer must successfully complete a Virginia law enforcement academy upon hire. All selected applicants must also complete the agency’s Field Training Program. The Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All sworn personnel must be able to work any shift as assigned, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
