NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE
AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGPursuant to § 15.2-1427 of the Code of Virginia, notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Rockbridge County, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Board Meeting Room, Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, to consider adoption of the following ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL CHAPTER 12 (EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL) AND CHAPTER 27 (STORMWATER MANAGEMENT) OF THE ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY CODE AND TO REENACT CHAPTER 12 AS THE EROSION AND STORMWATER MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE OF ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, RESERVING CHAPTER 27.The proposed ordinance repeals the Countys existing erosion and sediment control and stormwater management chapters and replaces them with a single consolidated chapter conforming County Code to the Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Act (§ 62.1-44.15:24 et seq. of the Code of Virginia) and the Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Regulation (9VAC25-875), effective July 1, 2024. The consolidated chapter addresses the establishment and administration of the Countys Virginia Erosion and Stormwater Management Program, regulated land-disturbing activities and exemptions, plan review and land-disturbance approval, technical criteria, inspections, enforcement, fees, and performance bonds.
