NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGNotice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors (the Board) of the County of Rockbridge, Virginia (the County) will hold a public hearing on September 14, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard to receive public comment regarding the Countys issuance of a maximum not to exceed $18,000,000 general obligation school bond, in one or more series (the Bond).
The proceeds of the Bond, together with any lawfully available funds to the extent appropriated, will be used by the School Board of the County to pay all or any portion of the costs to (a) acquire, construct, reconstruct, expand, and equip capital projects for school purposes in the County, including but not limited to construction, acquisition, and equipping of a recreation center and tennis courts, and (b) pay costs of issuance in connection with related financing(s) (the Project). The Bond will be a general obligation bond secured by the full faith and credit pledge of the County.
The public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, will be held in the Board Meeting Room, located on the 1st Floor of the Rockbridge County Administrative Office Building at 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia 24450. All interested persons may attend the public hearing and may present their views on the proposed bond issuance, subject to the rules of the Board.
