NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSIDER ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE
AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGNotice is hereby given that the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors intends to consider the adoption of an ordinance and will hold a public hearing on said ordinance at its meeting on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Board Meeting Room on the 1st floor of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, VA, 24450, to consider the following:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REENACT SECTION 25-22 OF THE ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY CODE (EXEMPTIONS FROM THE TAX ON TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY) TO CONFORM THE CLASSES OF EXEMPT HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS TO SECTION 58.1-3504 OF THE CODE OF VIRGINIA, INCLUDING ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES, MOPEDS, OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES, AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS AND PROCESSING DEVICESAll interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing to express their views on the proposed ordinance. While the Board meeting will be open to the public, citizens will have several options for remotely participating in the public hearing by following the instructions on the meeting agenda to be posted on BoardDocs at: https://go.boarddocs.com/va/rcva/Board.nsf/Public. Citizens may also submit comment in writing by U.S. Mail to Board of Supervisors, Citizen Comment, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, VA; or by email to
