The property is considered a nuisance per Section 217-3, and the owner is given until January 15, 2025 to abate the nuisance items stored on the property. If the nuisance items are not timely removed, the City of Lexington will remove

The City Council of Lexington will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024 during its regular meeting, held in the first-floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia,concerning Ordinance 2024-13. The proposed ordinance will amend City of Lexington City Code Sec. 40-3 and to create City of Lexington City Code Sec. 40-4 "Registrar Office Location and Early Voting Location" in preparation for a remodel of Lexington City Hall scheduled to commence in 2025. The location will change from 300 East Washington Street, Lexington VA, 24450 to 300 Diamond Street, Lexington VA, 24450.

A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington Planning Commission at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to a Conditional Use Permit application submitted by Kevin Ryan of VMI Alumni Agencies. The application is a request for a Conditional Use Permit to allow a portion of the building located at 45 South Main Street (Tax Map #23-1-82) and owned by Bank of the James, to be used as an Educational Facility, College/University.
