Avoid becoming a victim of scams and fraud!

ALWAYS:
  • Arrange to meet so the buyer can examine the item before payment
  • Be suspicious of too-good-to-be-true offers;
    there's probably a catch
NEVER:
  • Send money before you've seen the item
  • Send an item before you have been paid
Well known classified scams:
  • Cheap overseas phones (iPhones etc.)
  • Cheap laptops (MacBooks etc.)
  • Cheap loans (overseas)
  • Get rich programs
  • Advance funds fraud
  • Puppy scams

Notice of City Council Work Session

Notice is hereby given that the Lexington City Council will hold a work session and lunch on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., held in the second floor meeting room of the Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street, Lexington,to meet with Anne Lewis, Lead Recruiter with Baker Tilly, the local government recruitment specialists conducting the City Manager Search.
Following their work session, City Council also invites community members to meet briefly with Ms. Lewis and share with her your individual vision of what we should seek when hiring the new city manager. Individual five-minute appointments can be made between 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. by contacting Jani Hostetter at (540)462-3700 or jhostetter@lexingtonva.gov. Without a reserved appointment, interested individuals may show up and hope to get a stand by appointment or leave their written input.
