NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO REVIEW A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF LEXINGTON ZONING ORDINANCE
A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington City Council at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to a proposal to amend the Zoning Ordinance to allow accessory dwelling units in Lexingtons residential zoning districts. The proposal is to amend Article III to add Accessory Dwelling Unit - Detached as a conditional use in the R-1, R-2, R-M, and R-LC zoning districts; to amend Article IV to add lot requirements for accessory dwelling units; to amend Article XI to add use and design standards for accessory dwelling units; and to amend Article XX to delete the definition for accessory apartment, to amend the definition for building accessory, and to add definitions for accessory dwelling unit - attached and accessory dwelling unit - detached.
A copy of the draft Zoning Ordinance Amendment, case number ZOA 2023-01, is available for public review and examination between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Planning and Development Department located on the second floor of Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street.
